Initiate Your Journey in Panama City

Panama City is the best place to start your vacation. Home of many intriguing and original historical buildings that coexist with much newer ones, this city is the capital of the country and the largest city in Panama by far. Once you leave the Tocumen International Airport, you will have the option of visiting some of the nearby towns, but it is recommended to familiarise yourself with Panama City and to visit some of its more enchanting landmarks before leaving it in search of adventure elsewhere.

It is imperative to visit the Panama Canal, a monumental infrastructure that explains much of this country’s recent history. Built-in 1914, the Panama Canal can be observed best from the Miraflores locks, where you will also find a very interesting visitor center. Don’t forget to visit the Casco Viejo, the place where the old city of Panama was established in the 17th century. By the way, don’t worry too much about the prices, as Panama is not a very expensive place to visit.

Make a Trip to Bocas del Toro

It is recommended to make some preparations before leaving Panama City, as our next destination will be Bocas del Toro, located in the west end of the country. To be able to reach this region without any kind of problem, renting a car in Panama City from a car hiring company, such as Alamo Car Hire, might be the best of the ideas.

Bocas del Toro is a province of Panama that includes part of the mainland and more than 60 islands that tourist have the possibility of visiting. Famous for its fantastic beaches, Bocas del Toro offers a place to relax, surf, rent a sailboat or go diving. Water Taxis are available in most of the islands, allowing you to travel from one to the others.

Visit Boquete and Admire its Surroundings

The next step in our journey will be the Chiriqui Highlands, a region bordering Bocas del Toro where we will be able to find a steep mountains that provide a breathtaking landscape. To the west, the VolcánBarú National Park is a great alternative for those visitors looking to observe unique animals and plants in their natural habitat. Don’t forget to visit Boquete, a very small town located in the central part of the region, where you will be able to eat some great local food.

To sum up, Panama is a great destination for those people who would like to discover new places and live new and exciting experiences. Visit this country and you won’t regret it.
